These terms cover your use of OSS Brokie, a single-player game for iPhone. By using the app you agree to them.

1. It is a game

OSS Brokie is a game about money. Every company in it is invented, every price is generated by the app, and every headline is written by the app. Nothing shown is a real security, a real quote, or a real news story, and no screen in the app should be read as one.

The app cannot move money. It has no connection to any brokerage, bank, exchange, or payment system, and cannot place a real order of any kind.

2. Not investment advice

Nothing in the app is financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. The game models how saving and investing behave in broad terms, but it is a simplification built for play. Outcomes in the game do not predict real outcomes, and decisions that succeed here may fail with real money. Consult a qualified professional before making real financial decisions.

3. No account

The app has no accounts and no sign-in. Your saved games live on your device. You are responsible for your device and for any backups of it. Deleting the app deletes your saved games.

4. Acceptable use

Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the app except where that right cannot lawfully be restricted. Do not present the app’s invented prices, companies, or headlines as real information to anyone else.

5. Availability and changes

The app is provided as it is, and may be updated or discontinued at any time. Updates may change how the game behaves, including its balance and rules. Saved games from an earlier version may not survive a change to the game’s data.

6. Disclaimer and liability

The app is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, including any real financial decision you make after playing it.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated. The effective date at the top of this page will change when they are.
