Is any of this real?
No. OSS Brokie is a game. The companies, their prices, and the news about them are all generated by the app. It has no connection to any brokerage or bank and cannot move real money.
How do I play?
You start at eighteen with $2,000 and no job. Take work from the Career tab, choose what to spend on yourself, and press Live another month. Everything else — studying, investing, reading the news — is optional, and mostly a matter of what you can afford.
I keep burning out. What am I doing wrong?
Probably spending too little. Happiness is the gap between what you earn and what you let yourself spend, so a raise you never enjoy wears you down. If the hearts are low, raise your monthly spending — there is a suggested figure on the burnout card. It also makes you learn faster, so the better job arrives sooner.
Do I have to invest?
You can reach sixty-five without ever buying anything, but a salary alone rarely gets you to the point where you can stop working. The market is where most retirements come from.
How do I know which companies are any good?
You do not, entirely — that is the game. A company's visible figures hint at its real quality without settling it, and the news is a clue rather than an answer. Where a story comes from matters more than what it says.
One of my companies collapsed. Is that a bug?
No. Some companies fail, and the riskiest ones fail often. Index funds hold the whole market and cannot go to zero, which is the safest thing on the board and deliberately the dullest.
How do I delete a life, or all my data?
Press and hold a life in the list and choose Delete. Deleting the app from your iPhone removes everything it has stored. There is no account, so there is nothing else to close.
Will my games sync between devices?
Not yet. Saved games currently live only on the device you played them on.
